Agenda

Twitter, one of the most popular social media platforms, has rapidly turned into a major medium for the viral dissemination of views and opinions, largely used by citizens, news agencies, etc. However, how easy is it (e.g., for a journalist) to obtain authentic insights on discussions on Twitter when a large part of the content is created or shared by bots? Or, when the volume of information (e.g., millions of tweets) exceeds the capabilities for manual tracking? In this session, we will present a set of tools developed and provided by the Data and Web Science Lab, which can empower media professionals to analyze and trust Twitter information.
