Between 2020-2021, social media platforms received approximately half of all global digital advertising spend, while global newspaper advertising revenue dropped by half. Against this backdrop, some media companies, news organizations, entrepreneurs and journalists have forged innovative solutions, business models and approaches in media and journalism that are attracting attention, broadening their audience base and generating new lines of revenue.
