iMEdD International Journalism Forum 2024 is the annual gathering of journalists, initiated by iMEdD nonprofit journalism organization. Each year, journalists and media professionals from Greece and abroad come together to discuss new methods and tools, exchange ideas, address concerns and build a strong community in a bid for a better journalism.
In 2023, for 3 days and 59 sessions, over 140 speakers from 35 countries and more than 1450 participants met to exchange experiences, opinions and knowledge.
iMEdD International Journalism Forum will be held from September 26 to 28 at The Athens Festival venue, located at 260 Peiraios Street, Athens.
The Forum is organised by incubator for Media Education and Development (iMEdD). iMEdD is a nonprofit Journalism organisation founded in 2018, courtesy of a donation from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). Its mission is to support and increase transparency, credibility, and independence in journalism, in an effort to promote excellence in the field.

Registration to attend the Forum in Athens physically is open. Participation is free of charge. Every participant is responsible for his/her/their own travel logistics and expenses.
All attendees who plan to attend the Forum in Athens physically, are required to register online or on the spot. No registration is needed to watch the Forum online via live-streaming.
No. iMEdD is a nonprofit organization and all iMEdD events, programs and initiatives are always free of charge. Every participant is responsible for his/her/their own travel logistics and expenses.
The Forum is addressed to journalists (students or professionals), media specialists from Greece and abroad, professionals in journalism-related fields, and anyone interested in journalism.

Each year, the Forum features speakers from the journalism and media industries, hailing from Greece and beyond. They are professionals actively engaged in journalism-related roles, as well as esteemed members of the academic community.
The agenda is available HERE. Sessions (panel, keynotes, screenings, case study etc.) will be taking place for the entire 3 days, starting at 10 a.m. (local time) each day.
As we wrap up the agenda, we're selecting panels, keynotes, workshops, and innovative formats from both our own curation and over 200 proposals received earlier this year.
Attendance will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis, ensuring participants can engage in sessions of their choice as space permits.
For the first time, the UNCOVERED Conference by the European Centre for Press and Media Freedom (ECPMF) will be held in the framework of the iMEdD International Journalism Forum, taking place on September 25 and 26.
The UNCOVERED Conference 2024 is the annual conference of the Investigative Journalism for Europe (IJ4EU) programme, and it has been recognised as Europe's leading conference for cross-border investigative journalism.
Registration for the first day of UNCOVERED will open in July and will be separate.
Forum registration includes access to the second day of the UNCOVERED Conference.
Yes. We collaborate with organizations from Greece and abroad that get involved in the agenda and/or are present at the Forum's Media Village. During iMEdD International Journalism Forum, you will be able to connect with organizations, media outlets, nonprofit newsrooms, and NGOs.
All sessions will be live-streamed, except for the workshops. Live-streams will be available for viewing on the event’s website.
Yes. All sessions (workshops excluded) will be recorded and available for viewing after the event. Additional content, such as interviews and summary videos, will also become available after the event.

All sessions are “on the record” and subject to being photographed, video/audio-recorded, screen captured, and live-streamed. Attendees, speakers and partners may be captured via these formats. All sessions, materials and activities are subject to recording and may be reproduced in part or whole, and distributed or used in any way.
All sessions will be conducted in English or/and Greek, depending on the session topic and speakers/instructors composition.
Simultaneous English-Greek interpretation will be provided via headphones for all sessions, as well as in sign language. The language of each session will be indicated in the programme.
Free WiFi will be provided for all attendees.
