Description: Arena’s Collaborative Desk Experts offer an open space to discuss your needs and find the right solutions – all with an open-source approach. You can consult about setting up an online workspace for your investigation and team, covering the most important needs: which tools to choose to collaborate online, how to securely share files, organise research, and how to communicate safely. We can also advice on online and device security, considering the threat level by conducting a risk assessment of your project; setting up an integrated secure online office for your team; incorporate AI tools without losing control over data; discuss the trade-offs of being big-tech independent, and of course, the costs of it all.

• Digital security: Whatever digital security question or issue you have, do come by! We can also do a short 'audit' of your current digital security stance. You will receive concrete tips based on the outcomes of the audit.
• Risk assessments: If you are starting an investigation or a research project and you are unsure about the risks and threats your story or project may face, we can help you. We have a set of templates available that can help you assess the risks and how risks can best be mitigated.
• Open-source alternatives for Big Tech platforms and independent hosting infrastructure: We can give you information on open-source alternatives for Big Tech platforms and recommendations for independent hosting infrastructure for your team’s daily work. We can also point you to trustworthy, self-hosting options.
