Isabella Ramírez

Editor-in-Chief, President, Columbia Daily Spectator

Isabella Ramírez is a rising senior at Columbia University studying sociology. Originally from South Florida, she serves as the 148th editor in chief and president of the Columbia Daily Spectator. In her role, she oversees the editorial and business operations of Spectator, a nonprofit generating $200,000 in annual revenue and over 1,000 annual articles. Throughout the spring semester, Isabella led all aspects of Spectator’s coverage of pro-Palestinian protests at Columbia, from print to digital and multimedia.

She spearheaded a collaboration between Spectator and New York Magazine in May in which student journalists created a cover package on the crisis at Columbia. Outside of Spectator, Isabella has worked as a breaking news intern and social media editor at The Daily Beast and interned for POLITICO’s breaking news desk in Washington, D.C. Currently, Isabella is an academic year intern with NBC Politics in New York City.
