Avramidis Alexandros

Photojournalist

Alexandros Avramidis was born in Thessaloniki in 1971.

Since 1997, he has been working as a photojournalist, covering many of the top breaking news and feature stories, from Greece and abroad. He has been a partner of Reuters since 2012.

His photographs have been published in major newspapers and magazines such as The New York Times, El Pais, Liberation, Der Spiegel, The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, BBC, National Geographic, Kathimerini, VICE.

In 2016 he was honored with the Pulitzer Prize as a member of the Reuters photojournalist team that covered the Refugee Crisis in Greece and the rest of Europe.
