Drakou Evangelia

Assistant Professor of Environmental Geography, Harokopio University of Athens

Valia Drakou is an interdisciplinary scientist in the field of Ecology and Social-ecological systems analysis. She conducts research and education in the Geography Department of the Harokopio University of Athens since 2021. She has worked in the Science Service of the European Commission, and universities across Europe in Italy, France and the Netherlands. She leads several research projects of the European Commission and is part of large international scientific organizations shaping science-based policy (e.g., IPBES). She has authored many publications, policy reports, and has always had interest in enhancing science within society from undergraduate education up to media releases.
