Giorgos Christides is a Greece based journalist. He has been reporting for DER SPIEGEL since 2012, and his work has also appeared in the Guardian, the BBC and a number of other international and Greek media. He focuses on investigative, cross-border, multi-platform reporting. He has received the Investigative Journalism for Europe (IJ4EU) prize in two consecutive years (2022, 2023), the SIGMA award for data journalism (2023), the De Tegel award (2022) and the European Parliament Journalism Award (2009). Born in 1976, he studied journalism, politics and international relations at the Universities of Thessaloniki (BA) and Edinburgh (MSc).
