Journalist & Managing Director, Solomon
Iliana Papangeli was born in Larissa, Greece in 1993. She is a journalist and managing director of Solomon, an independent investigative outlet based in Athens, Greece. She specializes in migration and refugees and has experience in different formats. Other fields of interest include the far-right, food systems, and corruption. She has been nominated for the 2021 European Press Prize and won the IJ4EU Impact Award with the story The Logbook of Moria, a cross-border investigation of Solomon, Investigate Europe and Reporters United. Among others, her work has been published in Balkan Insight, Are We Europe, Der Tagesspiegel and οpenDemocracy. She has studied Psychology (BA) and Social Anthropology (Ph.D. candidate, MRes).
