Nikos Morfonios

Journalist, MIIR

With 19 years of experience reporting for Greek national newspaper “AVGI”, Nikos is specialised in the field of public administration and transport, and has extensively covered migration, human rights, nationalism and racism. He is a co-founder of the Mediterranean Institute for Investigative Reporting (MIIR), established in 2019 with the aim to enhance journalism that holds those in power accountable and defends the public good. In 2017 he attended the Summer Investigative Reporting course at Columbia Journalism School, as a recipient of a Stavros Niarchos Foundation Fellowship. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication & Media from the University of Athens.
