Omer Benjakob is an investigative journalist for Haaretz in Israel focused on the intersection of politics and technology. He covers disinformation, cyber and surveillance and has participated in a number of international investigations, among them Project Pegasus, "Flight of the Predator" (Shortlisted for EU Press Award for investigation of year (2023)) and “Team Jorge: Agents of Chaos” - an undercover investigation into the disinformation for hire industry. He is also a researcher and his writing on Wikipedia has been published in Wired UK, the Columbia Journalism Review and MIT Press, as well as academic journals. As a reporter, he helped reveal the longest standing hoax in Wikipedia's history and is now developing the story into a documentary podcast called "How Do You Fake a Death Camp". He is also a lecturer and public speaker.
