Valentine Susan

Director, Media Division OSF Global Program Expression

Susan Valentine is Director of the Media Division in Global Programs at the Open Society Foundations where she has worked for more than seven years providing grants and other support to strengthen and protect independent media. Prior to joining OSF, Sue was the Africa Program Coordinator for the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), the US-based non-profit. Previously she held senior positions in the mainstream media and civil society in South Africa during the transition to democracy and in the post-apartheid years. In 2003 she was a Fellow at the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard University.
