The Kyiv Independent is a major English-language media outlet based in Ukraine. Oleksiy Sorokin, Senior Editor, and Zakhar Protsiuk, Chief Development Officer, will discuss with Nikolas Vafiadis, Head of Foreign News Antenna TV, the work of the Kyiv Independent in Ukraine and the challenges of reporting in a country at war.

Following this discussion, the panel will welcome more speakers to further discuss "Journalism at War".

War correspondents face a significant number of challenges on the battlefield, including risks to their personal safety and meeting their basic physical needs. According to international conventions, journalists must be treated as civilians, and the journalistic profession must be carried out in safe conditions and under all the rules of international law, even on a battlefield. In this panel, all of the above characteristics will be posed and discussed in an attempt to understand how journalists are called upon to operate in an already highly complex information environment.
